Jewelry Stamp's Hallmarks Purity Chart
The chart below shows the American Purity standard hallmarked and found in jewelry sold in the United States referred to as Karat. Jewelry produced in other countries normally have the purity hallmarked on the jewelry. In France or Italy Jewelry is stamped "750" in the United States "750" translates to "18K" which signifies the jewelry contains 75% pure gold and 25% alloy.
To convert Karat into Purity the math is very easy, 14 Karat Gold contains 58.3% pure Gold and 41.7% alloy.
To convert Karat to Purity, simply divide 14K ÷ 24K which equals 0.583
